One thing I love about neutrals, is that they go with everything. One thing I don’t love about neutrals, is that when paired together, they can sometimes look flat. For me, I love a good neutral situation so I always make sure if that’s the route I’m going, that I try to pick different textures, layers, and always a good accessory (or 10). Because, who wants boring neutrals? Right?

I’ve been slowly unpacking some of my winter wardrobe (a little late, I know) but in doing so, I rediscovered this chunky beige cardigan from H&M. I got it a few years ago and I’ve just never been able to part with it. It’s such a staple and it’s the perfect piece to add a little warm and interest to an outfit. The weather was bitter cold today, and I wasn’t in the mood for a parka, so I knew layering this cardigan under one of my topcoats would be the perfect solution.

I tried to keep my whole outfit in the ‘greige’ family aka beiges and greys. I don’t like things to be too matchy-matchy so I try to stick to variations of a color or colors instead of a full on monochromatic look. I grounded the otherwise basic color palette with my favorite American Eagle super skinny dark wash jeans and a pair of suede lace-up boots from Geox.

Now for the finishing touches. A wide brim hat for something different, and a pair of classic frames, because, why not?!

What are a few of your hacks for keeping neutrals interesting? Pairing with pops of color? Avoiding them all together? Leave a comment and let a brotha know!
