Fall is one of my favourite times of the year for so many reasons. Sure, the cooler weather is always a bit exciting, the suddenly tangible countdown til Christmas gets the heart pumping, but for me, it’s the layers. I LOVE LAYERING. If you’ve been following me on Instagram at all, you know that I love a good jacket, especially when it’s denim. I also love a little DIY action to kind of ‘customize’ my pieces and this American Eagle denim jacket was no exception.
As much as I love classics, I also get bored easily. I love to focus on small details that pack a punch. That give an everyday outfit just a little somethin’ somethin’. So here’s what I did. After wearing this light wash denim jacket to death, which I initially saw someone wearing it on IG and just had to have, I decided it needed a bit of a face lift. Something to bring it back to life. I hopped on the bandwagon and distressed the shit out of it. Gave it a bit more of a ‘street style’ vibe.
Paired back to more classic pieces, I love the juxtaposition of the classic meets street, meets clean cut, meets rugged. I of course added a few more details with the red bandana pocket square and a pair of simple frames in hopes I’d trick a few people into thinking I was smarter than I really am.
What are a few of your favourite details that make an outfit ‘yours’? I’d love to know! Leave a comment or feel free to DM me on Instagram. I’m always looking to get inspired!
