This time of year I always find myself gravitating towards a bit of a uniform. Those few key pieces you just can’t live without. Instead of wearing the same thing everyday though, I tend to collect different variations of my favourite staples. Just like many years in the past, I have a few repeat offenders. This year? Chelsea boots and knit sweaters.

As I get older I see myself slowly refining my style. Sticking more to classic pieces, and concentrating on fit and longevity. When I saw these perfect cognac suede boots from Call It Spring, I knew I needed them. They’re a timeless style, the color screams fall, and I hate to admit it, but I have a major footwear addiction. Let’s be honest though, who doesn’t? I’ve been wearing them non-stop at least, so that’s a good thing, right?

As for the knit, I know oversized and baggy has been definitely trending the past while (thanks a lot, Yeezy) but unfortunately for me, a lot of looser and oversized styles just don’t work for my body type. Or maybe it’s just all in my head. Either way, I definitely prefer my clothing to be quite fitted. Initially I was just attracted to the color of this H&M sweater, but after trying it on and seeing how well it fit, plus the super affordable price point, it became clear that this was going to be a no-brainer staple for me this fall.

I have no doubt that many more variations of sweaters and Chelsea boots will be making their way into my closet this season, but what I want to know is, what are a few of your autumnal staples you can’t live without?dcarrington swgreen5 ssgreen3 ssgreen2
